Merrett Houmoller Architects
Studio 24

We are a design-led architectural practice based in Sheffield and London with a diverse portfolio ranging from urban design and masterplanning to bespoke furniture design and interiors.

We see architecture as a fundamentally public concern. We’re interested in the inter-dependant relationships between public and private space and between people and place.

We take a collaborative approach which rigorously examines the social and urban context of the design brief, and values the knowledge and skills of user groups and stakeholders.

Our experience and expertise encompasses the following sectors:

Urban Design and Masterplanning; Public Realm and Place-making; Office and Workplace Design; Retail Design; Industrial heritage refurbishment; Listed Buildings and Conservation; Temporary and meanwhile projects; Private residential and interiors; Commercial residential developments; Self-build/Custom build developments

Our clients include The British Red Cross, The Howard de Walden Estate, Shaftesbury Covent Garden Ltd, London & Continental Railways Ltd., Sheffield City Council, Waltham Forest Council and The City of Lincoln Council.

Our success has been recognised in national awards including AIA Young Architect of The Year Award and the Architects Journal Retrofit Awards and as winners of a number of design competitions including the RIBA’s ‘Beyond Borders’ and Waltham Forest Council’s ‘Making Places’ in 2017.
