We’re very proud to welcome noted Sheffield communications design team Peter & Paul, who have made the move to Sum Studios, taking on four units to accommodate a growing crew. Directors Peter Donohoe and Paul Reardon, in business together since 2004, are joined in numbers 16-19 Sum Studios by their own team of four staff as well as Mike Hughes, digital programmer and People in Space, commercial interior design specialists.

Peter & Paul won the job to name the development and design communications and marketing, and on an early tour of the building registered their interest in moving in. “It’s a beautiful space,” says Paul. “It’s been really cleverly restored and is a great space for us to work in – lots of light, good connections and it’s becoming a busy home to some of the city’s more interesting businesses too.”

The agency began on the branding project in 2012, starting with naming. Explaining the final choice, Peter explains: “We wanted to retain some reference to the past without being too obvious – we needed enough distance for this to feel like a fresh start, a new chapter. ‘Sum’ does that, with a gentle link to its academic past, but it also refers to the value of the place and the people that will make it – this is going to be a thriving, busy little community so we wanted to capture how we’re all going to add up to more than the sum of our parts when we’re all in it together. And we’re really looking forward to being part of this – it’s going to be something fresh and distinctive for Heeley to be proud of.”
